new user sound, file sharing and keyboard issues

I've installed VM on my Mac. The sound doesn't/won't work and I cant switch between the guest win 7 OS and the host Mac OS.

I've tried pressing the ctrl button but it doesn't work. I've installed the mac keyboard but that doesn't seem to do the trick. The @ and " keys are still switched?

Also, I've shared my Mc file system via the VM settings but cant find them anywhere on the guest win 7 OS?

Any advice/help would be much appreciated.

You have too many issues in a single topic, but let's try and tackle them one at a time.

Beside the basic information described in Minimum information needed for assistance, I'd like to see the "recipe" of the VM. Right-click on the VM and select "Show in Finder". Zip it and attach it.

Second, about your sound; try to change the sound volume and see if that fixes it.

Third, are you using a non-ANSI keyboard? Like English, German, Swiss, Korean or something like that?

Fourth, your shared folders can be seen under Network, VBOXSRV, blah, blah, blah...

Fifth and most important. Do not merge all sorts of problems into a single post. People that are searching for specific solutions (like you did?) will not be able to focus on this thread.

I've sorted the sound thanks.

I'm using an apple macbook pro keyboard, thats all!

VBOXSRV does not appear anywhere within my guest windows 7 setup?

If I could drag the mouse cursor out of the guest and into the host without having to shut down the guest, I'd sort 80% of my probs!

Appreciate the response and I wont smother my future posts with too many questions.

I've sorted the switching thing. I have to hold down crtl, cmd and H to switch. Sorted.

I've shared the folder within my mac, but still cant see that agreed shared folder within the guest machine? I've also enabled the two way drag and drop option but this doesn't work either.

Attach the vbox.log file (compressed to a message.

The Guest Additions need to be installed (see ch4) before simple shared folders will work.

yep done all that. I can see my mac but its asking for a network password. tried all that.

Also, re full screen, I can get the height spot on but not the width? suggestions?
