Hi,

Whn I start VM evry messages or sub menu have bad caracters or bad font.
It is now impossible to read any message or use any contextual menus.
I have check language but it is always the same issu.

Is anybody know away to oslve this ?

That would be a problem with configuration of the guest OS - if only we knew what that was!

My host is Win7x64 SP1
The release of Virtualbox is 4.3.24
The VM is Win7Pro SP1

Moved to Windows Guests.

If it's a legitimate copy of the Win7 setup DVD then simply choose the correct national locale during installation. As I said above, the appearance of fonts etc inside a guest OS is a matter for that guest OS. VirtualBox does not control those things. If you don't know how to do it then you need to contact Microsoft support.

Yes, this is definitely one of the rare occasions when a picture would be helpful rather than just wasting bandwidth

I am not sure that my problem is depending on guest language because the windows launched is well in th good lang.
I have several VM :
win7
win 8.1
and it is the same
I have tried also to create a new VM and it is the same result

To be honest, no -- there is something wrong with fonts on your host system, but beyond that, who knows what the real problem is.

Just to make it clear though, this has nothing to do with the guest OS or guest language settings. This is a problem on the host side.

Is the a way to know which font is used by virtual box to check/comprae with my host ?

I'm puzzled.. why the mention of "when starting any VM" (in the OP), if the problem is on the host?

I have to say that the pictures tell me nothing.

This is all handled by the Qt library... which I fear is complex enough that there is no straightforward answer. It would be good to know whether this is something that is specific to certain VirtualBox versions, and how many different host systems it shows up on.

As for guest vs. host -- in the screenshots I see absolutely no hint that the guest screen content is rendered incorrectly. But the text on the host side certainly is. It looks like the text spacing is somehow completely wrong and all characters in a string ended up being written at the same position.

I can tell that this problem has appear since the 2 or 3 last release of virtualbox.
If I start vm the content of th vm is correct I can read every text.
Only message from virtual box and sub menu are impacted.

And is the problem corrected if you return to the older VBox version?
