Ubuntu 14.04 doesn't work
Ubuntu 14.04 doesn't work
Hi guys,
I try to install Ubuntu at my Virtual Machine but it doesn't work...
First I insert CD, then Installation is going well (I can see Ubuntu logo, and 4 dots that are blinking).
When this screen is finished here should apear some graphic interface to install Ubuntu, but it doesn't.
All I see is usually black screen (sometimes it loads some graphic like for example battery and WiFi icon in top screen).
My Ubuntu dosen't use CD or HardDrive disk and mouse pointer is frozen. Nothing is happening.
What to do guys?
Thanks in advice for your help.
ps.
I've installed and used several times Vbox in this computer and all was great, it's my first time when I got problem like this.

Did you try installing Ubuntu directly from the .iso?

My bad, saying insert CD i meant show direction to .iso file.
I will try to insert CD instead of showing direction to .iso file.

no, using the .iso is best. Did you check the md5 sum to make sure the .iso was okay?Piwniczne wrote:My bad, saying insert CD i meant show direction to .iso file.

You could try disabling 3D in the guest settings to see if that helps.

I've checked CD and it's fine.
I disabled 3d- didn't help.

Re: Ubuntu 14.04 doesn't work
You should stop calling an .iso a CD.
After the four dots you mentioned it should open the Try Ubuntu or Install Ubuntu screen. Yours sounds like it's trying to go straight to the desktop.

you need to either attach the screen shots to a message or give the correct links to them.

What version of Windows and VirtualBox are you running? It looks like Windows 10.
