Ubuntu 14.04 host crashes when trying to install Win7 guest

Hello,
I have configured a new VM, fixed drive size of 50GB. Everything works fine to this point.
When starting the VM for the first time in order to install the OS, when I point to the CD drive, it accepts the choise and then crashes immediately.
I didn't check the 3D acceleration, if that helps.
Any idea why is happens and how to fix that?
