Windows Server 2008 and Client

I am attempting to use virtual box to setup a virtual domain for my computer networking class. I have setup 2 guest, one running Windows Server 2008 R2 and a mock client running windows 7.
In order to assign the server a static IP, I setup 2 network adapters, one NAT and one Host-only adapter then configured the host-only adapter with the static IP address, but was lost when trying to determine what to assign as the DNS servers. I attempted assigning them to the default gateway of my NAT adapter, but when I connected the client, there was no internet connection. It is stupid to assume that my client will be able to only have the host-only adapter setup with the server as the DNS just as a physical domain and access the internet through the server? If not, how would I accomplish this?
