lost Win7x64 guest audio after v.4.3.24 upgrade

Is there known issue with latest VBox v.4.3.24 guest audio on Win7x64?
Am running Win7ProSP1 on both host and guest upgraded from v.4.3.20 to resolve issue with NAT network. Guest audio had worked no problem on v.4.3.20 but after upgrading to v.4.3.24 now have no sound.
Search on forum pulls up numerous references to audio issues with v.4.3.22 and v.4.3.24 changelog references improvement to directsound audio backend, but could not find any specific problem issue with v.4.3.24.
Is there some configuration change with v.4.3.24 needed to restore guest audio?
Not sure what info may be needed for troubleshooting...
Attached are .zip files of VBox logs ..\Users\{Win user}\.VirtualBox\VBoxSVC.log.x and ..\Users\{Win user}\{VBox guest}\Logs\VBox.log.x
Note, for VBoxSVC.log.x files, 3 oldest versions (files x.8, x.9, x.10) dated June-2014 were from last Acronis image backup with stable VBox v.4.3.6
VBox had been upgraded as suggested thru several subsequent releases in unresolved attempts to fix unknown problem with deleting snapshots hanging: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=62491
With VBox v.4.3.20 (which did not exhibit any guest audio issue) had become aware that version had new network issue with NAT adapter: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=66170
Restored Acronis image back to stable VBox v.4.3.6 dating back to June-2014, then upgraded VBox directly to latest v.4.3.24 (which is supposed to resolve NAT adapter issue) captured by subsequent VBoxSVC.log files starting from version x.7
Please let me know what if any additional troubleshooting info may be helpful
