I tried to install Oracle VM VirtualBox 4.3.24 and got the following error:
Could not register type library for file C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\x86\VBoxClient-x86.dll. Contact your support personnel.
I am running Window 7, Service Pack 1, with all updates installed. I've scanned with Malwarebytes and that was clean.
I tried to reinstall 4.3.22 which I had been running and got the same error. The Event Viewer indicates the error is 1911.
Can someone please suggest a next step to get VirtualBox installed? Thanks.

I was able to get past this problem. I ran COM as administrator and then regsvr32 VBoxClient-x86.dll. The dll registered. I then had to manually install the updated extension pack by downloading and then clicking in the Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager on File | Preferences | Extensions and browse to the location of the file. Everything appears to be working normally. I've got no idea on why this happened.
