USB device not being captured by VBox

Post by Nicodemus »

Sorry to drag this up again. I am a newbie and I have read the old posts on this topic, but nothing seemed to help.
I have also read the manual.
I have several screen shots and three logs in a PDF but that is not an approved attachment format, so I have added only the last log and a closing screenshot.

Basic steps followed:
Examine host device manager details (left side of image);
Examine VMbox devices discovery details (middle of image);
Set up USB filter for device in guest (right of image);
Restart everything; pull and plug in the USB stick; not captured.

Full log is provided for Host and Guest details. What have I done wrong?
Thanks.

Did you try removing the "revision" value from the usb filter? Normally you only need the vendor and product id.

Thanks Martin. To be honest I feel a bit of a goon.

1 - the PID for that device was 055B - for Bravo, not 0558 - digit 8
2 - this Lenovo box seems to provide VBox with THREE identities for same, single built in camera (see shots attached) - one as a Webcam and two as USB devices - one (now) known, and still one 'unknown'.
3 - the actual VID and PID for the USB stick was the other 'unknown device' - 0C76:0003:100

The capture was successful upon retrying.
