Wifi shows as limited after virtualbox install (windows 8.1)

I've installed virtualbox on 3 separate windows machines now (1 was windows 8, the other 2 are windows 8.1) and everytime my wifi connection will show as "limited".
It still seems to work fine, and I can connect to the internet and vpns that I use. But it's slightly annoying and leads me to believe there is something that I need to do to my network configs.

The latest virtualbox I installed is VirtualBox-4.3.20-96997-Win.exe but it was the same on previous versions.

Any idea how to make this annoying issue go away (other than uninstalling virtualbox)?
