USB devices being randomly disconnected from guest

Hello,
I am experiencing a big problem with VirtualBox. When I try to connect any of my USB devices to the virtual machine, they work perfectly fine but randomly they are being disconnected from the guest. Moreover, host stops recognizing this device and shows the "USB device not recognized" error. The only way to fix this is to physically reconnect this device but the problem happens again.
Host OS is Windows 8.1.1, guest OS is generally Linux (problem happens on Ubuntu Server 14.04 and OpenWRT). Any suggestions?
