Which version of VBox does work on WinXP 32bit?

Post by radmir1948 »

Hi, All,

Tried to install vbox 4.3.22 on to Win XP 32 bit, but it says "not tested for this OS"!
Can anybody say which version is OK for Win-32-XP, the last I used was 4.1.4.
Many thanks,

Not tested is not the same thing as does not work. It simply means what it says, that it has not been tested on this OS.

I doubt that any further releases will be tested on XP, since XP is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Thanks, but it doesn't mean : it does work. So, I wonder, if anybody have worked on XP with VBox and had no problem, which version did he use?

Thanks,

I use XP Spaghetti Nutbush version... if that helps.

Seriously, if you want to know if the software will install on your system, you need to try it. Do an Acronis or similar system backup of your host first if you're worried. Nobody here can tell you anything that'll make a blind bit of difference to your experience.
