Upgrade won't launch properly

Post by jnl2 »

Host: Win 7 64bit, Norton AV
Guest: (VBox v 4.3.22 r98236 w/ extensions and additions from the previous installation) Win 7 64bit, Norton AV

RAM: 4GB of 8 devoted to VBox
HD: 400GB of 900GB devoted to VBox

This neophyte installed VBox and an OS Guest about a month ago. The system "worked" throughout the first few weeks in late January and into February until struggles w/ some networking issues in the last few weeks occurred. Upon the suggestion from a pop-up window to upgrade the VBox software, I presumably followed the steps to upgrade the VBox software correctly providing permissions along the way. After the entire host system was rebooted and an attempt to relaunch the guest OS was made, the attached windows messages appear in sequence. The previously created guest OS does not then launch to say the least.

Can someone help please? (Bare in mind that I am not a highly skilled IT professional.)

Thank you.

Code: Select all

VirtualBox VM 4.3.20 r96997 win.amd64 (Nov 24 2014 11:05:59) release log
00:00:03.114862 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack (Version: 4.3.22 r98236; VRDE Module: VBoxVRDP)
The mismatch of the extension pack is enough to cause this issue.

I would upgrade to 4.3.22 or downgrade the extension pack to match the build.

Thanks for pointing that out.

The Extension Pack was up-graded to the appropriate version and the VM works as expected.

Thanks again.
