I want to install software on a Windows Virtual Box from a CD-ROM that is built into a Windows 7 PC.
The Virtual Box is running on a Macbook Air.
Laters version of VM is installed.
How do I get the Windows VM on the Mac see the physical CD drive on a physical Windows machine?
Thank you.

Take one step back. How do you see the physical Windows CD in your MacBook Air? Do you see it as a device?
My take on it would be to create an ISO from the physical CD on your physical Windows, copy it to your MBA and mount the ISO in the VM.

Re: Accessing a CD-ROM on a PC from a Windows VM on Macbook
If I understand the OP's question correctly, he can't see the CD?DVD drive on his physical Windows PC from his MacBook Air but wants to know how to. Which he can't. It seems since a MacBook Air has no CD/DVD Drive he wants to use his Windows PC as one.
As socratis said, you need to create an .iso on your Windows machine and transfer it to your Windows guest on the MacBook Air.

Thank you for your replies.
What I wanted to hear was:
1) do this to share your cd-drive on the PC to your network
2) Do this to see the shared CD-Drive from the Virtual windows machine.
A mere mortal, I will need to know look up these other tasks you suggest.
Thank you anyway.
