iTunes 12.1 in Windows guest - Video imports fail

It appears that there is a limitation on old video devices within the 12.1 release of iTunes. The symptom is that any attempt to import videos into the Library fails without notification. Audio files seem unaffected by this. This took me hours to uncover, so I thought it might be useful for anyone attempting to run iTunes for movie sync to their devices inside VirtualBox. There is an alternate download available with the "legacy" drivers intact. It is located on Apple's support site in KB DL1784. Sorry I couldn't post the link directly. I guess I'm considered too much of a noob to perform such actions.
