Ok, hi everyone. Recently, having built a new computer I made some new VM's. Windows 10 and Server 2012 R2. However, I wanted to mess around with Hyper-V in the Server 2012 R2 VM. But when I try to add the Hyper-V role, Windows complains that the system does not have any virtualization capabilities. Now I know for a fact that this is a lie as the VM itself is running! Virtualization is enabled in the BIOS and the virtualbox settings. The only thing I can think of is that there is a restriction somewhere that does not allow the guest OS to have virtualization capabilities. Can anyone clear this up for me please?

Nested virtualization (a virtualizer inside a VM) is not supported.

So would disabling it make it work? Or is it just not possible?

You can't run Hyper-V and VirtualBox at the same time.

welcome. I've read online somewhere you can create a switch to enable and disable Hyper-V easily but I forget where. I'm sure a search could find it.

He is asking about enabling Hyper-V inside a Win2012 VM, so disabling Hyper-V won't help
