Bridge Network issues

Dear Friends,

I am using a Windows8.1 OS as a host. Inside the VirtualBox I am running an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

The issue is that the VirtualBox is in a different subnet mask and I need to change it. I am bit confused because my goal is to enable the bridge adapter and access the internet from the guest OS.

Can someone clarify this?

If you are using bridged your address should come from the routers dhcp. Without knowledge of exactly what you have done it will be impossible to tell you what you need to do.
