Cannot map a printer W7 VM on W7 Host
Posted: 9. Feb 2015, 00:30
I am unable to map a printer running a Windows 7 32bit VM on a Windows 7 64bit Host.
net view shows the printer correctly.
Net Use lpt1: \\computer\printer responds with:
The password is invalid for \\computer\printer
Enter the user name for 'computer': I enter a valid user name
Enter the password for "computer": I enter the correct password
I receive: System error 5 has occurred.
Access is denied.
I've been over all my network settings, and I do not see a problem. The VM is bridged.
I'm able to map a network drive, and use it appropriately.
I have not installed any guest extensions. I have 5 other VMs configured without guest extensions, and they all function correctly.
On an XP 32bit VM running on the same Win7 64bit host, I can net use the same networked printer without a problem.
What could be going on with this Windows 7 32bit VM that is not allowing it to map a network printer?
Thanks in advance for your help,
