I have virtualbox and I'm trying to export to an external hard drive and keep getting this error. I am able to export to a regular folder on my Mac host.
Failed to export appliance /Volumes/Seagate Backup Plus Drive/Win7.ova.

Re: Export .ova to external hard drive
Can you just export it to your internal drive and copy it over?
The error means the disk is write protected.

I'm unable to move it to the hard drive.

Re: Export .ova to external hard drive
Then the disk as I said is write protected. Did the drive come with software from Seagate? It may have locked the drive to only allow backups. I don't have the drive you have but if you can't copy any file to it then you need to change its settings. It's not a VirtualBox issue.jnuey wrote:I'm unable to move it to the hard drive.
