windows 7 host, archlinux guest, Xorg failure

Post by netskink »

Hello

I am using virtualbox on a windows 7 host with an archlinux guest. I'm trying to use virtualbox instead of my previous commercial vmware setup. I have networking and console working in my linux guest but I can not get xwindows working. When I try to run startx, it fails with an error saying it cannot start drm.

I have the three modules running for vbox.

I can start VBoxClient-all and it does not give errors but I don't any new process in ps auxw list.

In windows, for the vbox client it says that I dont have any guest services running when I do ctrl-n.

Any help is appreciated.

John
