Virtual Machines automatically shutdown by itself

Post by TechSpec90 »

Hi Experts,

My am facing a weird problem, I am making VMs in Virtual Box on My Windows 7 Computer, its a Dell Precision Workstation 690 all of a sudden the VM in which I have Windows Server 2008 r2 installed it shuts down automatically by itself. I have to again on the machine, this shutdown is happening at every 15 minutes.

I am clueless why this is happening, Please somebody help me out in this.

Thank You.

Provide a VM log file: Minimum information needed for assistance.

Help save a disk drive: please zip logs before attaching them.

There should be a file "VBoxStartup.log" in the same folder. Could you zip and attach that too please?

I am trying to find out where the file "VBoxStartup.log" is located, but I am unable to find one.
Please assist in finding this fine.

As mentioned, it should be in the same folder where you found the other logs. If VBox 4.3.20 attempted to start this VM then the VBoxStartup.log file should exist.

Are you referring to a real "shut down" as in similar to when you click "Shut down"? Or are you referring to a "crash", as in the guest blue-screening with the Virtualbox window still showing, or the Virtualbox window just disappears?

Reason I'm asking without waiting for the log file, demo versions of Windows OSs run fine for a few months then start restricting themselves in some ways - maybe regular 15-minute shutdown is part of that?
