I'm trying to install Linux Mint 64-bit on Windows 7 64-bit host but everytime I try to start it, it just quits and gives me and error message: Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Linux Mint. And in the details it tells me it's and E_FAIL 0x80004005 error. So, what can I do, I really want to try out Linux but I don't have any PC other than this one?

You don't look dumb. There may not be a solution yet. Try installing VirtualBox 4.3.12 from here https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Download_Old_Builds_4_3

Oh my god, thank you so much, that solved the error!!! Should I use this old version of virtualbox for my other virtual pc's?

well, if you don't want the same error.

some of the newer versions of Linux may not run on VB 4.3.12 however.
