Windows 8 clone to virtualbox

Post by Ant555 »

Hello,i have a windows 8 cloned c drive that I want to restore to a virtualbox drive.i cloned it using driveimage xml so il have to use this to restore it.I know how to go about it but am having problems.iv created a virtual hard in virtualbox and booted it with a bootdisk iso image. The problem is the clone is on my portable harddrive and the bootdisk program doesn't show the portable harddrive.virtualbox itself does recognize the portable harddrive.Has anyone any ideas whats goin on here or a different way of doin this

You can share the root of the external drive on your host, then access the shared folder via network settings in the boot environment, if that's supported. Or you can convert the contents of the external drive image into an iso file, then attach that iso to the virtual cd drive in your guest.
