virtualbox on dedicated Server

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to have some VMs installed on a remote dedicated server (hosted by an Internet provider). Sofar the VMs could connect to the Internet via NAT. Yet, what I really aim for is to have bridged interfaces.

Unfortunately, I haven't got much success here. The current challenge I have is that whenever I run the command "brctl addif br0 eth0", the host looses connectivity and I'm diconnected from the server. The only way for me to gain back access is to have the machine rebooted.

Have you got such an issue? How to you address that?

Thanks,

Klaus.

Using bridge networking for your guest server is the right approach. However, VBox 1.6.0 contains an annoying bug which makes host interface with this version almost unusable. VBox 1.6.2 (expected soon) will fix this and some other issues.
