Backup/Export VirtualBox network interfaces?

Is it possible to backup the network interfaces created with VirtualBox?
I'm not sure what that even means!
The best way to back up a VM is to copy the entire VM folder to secondary storage. That backs up the disk contents along with the entire VM recipe, snapshots, saved state etc etc.
