Hard drive file type

The help file does not address the selection of this file type? Which one"
Using Win7.

Also what is up with installing an OS? I have one installed all Ready? :oops:

VDI is the native and preferred native VirtualBox format. The others are included so one can use virtual drives created in other programs.

As far as "what is up with installing an OS?". That is the entire purpose of VirtualBox. To allow one to run OSes along with the one you already have. For example, you are running Windows but want to try a version of Linux.
