Installing Windows 10 preview build 9926 wont work

I keep getting this message, when i try to add the ISO file, to the windows 8.1 64 bit guest OS.
I tried with ubuntu, from the same storage, and that works, but not w10...

In your host. Do a Google search for how to check sha-1 values for whatever OS you are running.

yes it does. now you have to check if the .iso you downloaded matches that.

How do i check that, i can use winrar, to open the iso file up, but i have no clue were it is.

But microsoft says it's not that, and non of the others has that?

I got it to work, i just had to re download the file, so it went duplicate like this.

Windows10_TechnicalPreview_x64_EN-US_9926 (1)

It needs the extra (1) to be working for me.

Actually the extra (1) means there's already a file named same as the new download, and rather than overwrite the existing file, the download gets the (1) added to make it a different name. That's not what makes the iso work now. You just have a good complete error-free download this time. Hope it works well!

I'm glad to find that I'm not the only one with this issue... but it's really frustrating. I even re-downloaded the iso and am still getting the same error... any other suggestions? I really want to check out Windows 10 but I don't want to replace my current OS so VirtualBox is the way to go, assuming I can get it to work... the iso is direct from Microsoft so it seems like it wouldn't be corrupt... I tried renaming the file to remove all the underscores too. It didn't make any difference, it was a long shot anyway.

The name indeed doesn't matter.

So what is the exact size in bytes of C:\Users\User\Software\Windows10TechnicalPreviewx64.iso ?

The current build available on .iso is 10041.
