Re: Drag and drop?
Isn't file drag-n-drop experimental & only for Linux guests, I think?

And only host to guest.
Use Shared Folders to exchange files with a VM (see VM settings | Shared Folders).

Re: Drag and drop?
A side note: When you drag a file from the host to a Linux guest, it actually creates two copies of the dragged file. One wherever you drag it to, i.e. the desktop of the guest, and two, to a newly created folder inside the Documents folder of the guest called "VirtualBox Dropped Files", and inside that a new folder with a date and time stamp label. Not sure if that is a bug or if it's how it implemented. Also, the file has to be dragged to the guest's desktop with some DE's, others not, and doesn't work at all with others. It's hit and miss.

Re: Drag and drop?
I've filed a bug in the tracker, but the standard for GUI applications is to either not expose nonfunctioning options in the first place, or to use common disabled conventions for menus and form-style elements (typically greying them out so they can't be selected).mpack wrote:And only host to guest.

You'll still have to field this question in the forums until parity's achieved, but at least people will know the functionality's not there instead of erroneously believing it is and thinking they did something wrong / the software's broken.
Thanks again for a great product.

Actually the info is in the user manual if people would bother to read it.
