Critical error with 'IE8 - Win7' on Win7(64)SP1 host

I've installed the 'IE8 - Win7' VM from modern.ie, and am unable to get it started. It ends in 'critical error'. I attached the log file. Can anyone point me to the cause? Thanks in advance. Karl

The vbox.log you posted is for an XP guest and ends normally.

I am unable to boot past this 'Critical error' screen, regardless of which guest OS I select. If the log doesn't reveal anything, what more should I look for? Thanks in advance, Karl

sorry, I missed something in the first log. You are getting a guru meditation error. looking at it.

the error is VERR_VMX_UNABLE_TO_START_VM. I don't see any security errors but you could try rolling back to VB 4.3.12.
