Can't boot - Failed to load VMMR0.r0

Post by myownserver »

Hi All,

I'm running VirtualBox 4.2.8 r83876
Windows 2008 R2 Standard

I am required to use version 4.2 as we are using Shadow Protect to boot a backup into a virtualbox virtual machine.

I am having an issue with any vms we build manually or switch Shadow Protect.

The error I'm getting is:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine TEST.

Code: Select all

Failed to load VMMR0.r0 (VERR_LDR_MISMATCH_NATIVE).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392}
I noticed some posts from earlier in the year that spoke about removing VirtualStore but I can't find it, and xml files are no longer used.

Any suggestions?

Provide a VM log file.

Right click the VM in the GUI. Select "Show Log". Save "VBox.log" to a file. Compress that file and attach it to a message here.
