Can I use this like this

Post by cubby208 »

Hello! I was wondering if any of you guys know if this would work. I am not the most technologically inclined person so bear with me please.

I am an avid mac user but have decided it is time to switch to windows for pricing reasons. My problem is I have two softwares that I would dearly miss using if I transferred over. They are

Xcode
and
Logic Pro X

I was wondering if these would still work well if they were ran on a windows system using virtual box. Here is some things that I worry might trip up virtual box.

Xcode
Compiling Code
Connecting to Idevices like iPads in order to test apps
Graphics Card Usage
Logic Pro X
Connecting Midi Keyboards
USB Ilok key (used to store the serial codes)
Fast usage of external drives

And also would it run roughly at the same power that the pc would usually be running?
Thanks A Bunch!

Neither Xcode nor Logic Pro X will run on anything other than OSX on a Mac. Trying to run OSX on anything other than Apple hardware violates Apple's SLA.
See: Mac OS X guest on a Windows Host

Even if it didn't violate the SLA, there are no guest additions for OSX, so they certainly wouldn't run well. Even with GAs, if they ever become available, Logic Pro certainly wouldn't run well in a virtual machine.

The short answer is no.
OSX, Linux and Windows Hosts & Guests
There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.
