Windows 7 VB 4.3.20: error when starting up a new VM

Post by Millarras »

Hello! - I'm new to all this stuff, but i decided to try it out..
So first of all. I am starting out by creating a vm running Linux Mint.
I followed an online tutorial on how to install everything, but when i launched the VM for the first time i got an error message saying:
"Unable to load R3 module C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox/VBoxDD.DLL (VBoxDD): GetLastError=1790 (VERR_UNRESOLVED_ERROR)." and an option to show advanced.
In the advanced menu it says:
"Could not open a session to this virtual machine Mint (I called this VM for "mint").

Unable to load R3 module C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox/VBoxDD.DLL (VBoxDD): GetLastError=1790 (VERR_UNRESOLVED_ERROR).

Return code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Card: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}"

I tried asking around, but i could not get a clear answer, so I'm trying here :)

- If more info is needed please say so, im new, and not totally sure what to write :)

In order to better understand the problem you need to submit some more information. Please read the following: Minimum information needed for assistance.

Also, take a look at the discussion: Windows 4.3.20 specifically for errors due to security. I have a feeling that you might face a similar problem. You might find some newer test builds and/or other helpful hints. Here is one hint; it's not just that KB that a lot of people have been sidetracked by. It's a lot of things (antivirus, firewalls, debuggers, emulators, theme changers, etc). Here's another hint; try VirtualBox 4.3.12.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
