Multiboot machine need virtualize 2nd partition

Post by confuseis »

Hi All

I have a dual boot windows 7 machine with a 2nd partition used for server 2008

I want this server 2008 partition to be ported over to virtual box

I have used the program disk2vhd to convert the 2nd partition to a to a vhd but as I suspected I have gotten the Operating system not found error

I tried the recovery option from the windows disk and all the command line options to recover the OS / repair the Boot table BCD etc. to no avail

How do I get this 2nd partition to Virtualbox???

Thanks for reading

You have to P2V the entire disk image, not just one partition. When you have a working VM you can then delete the partitions you don't want - and then I'd suggest compacting the drive using CloneVDI.
