Cannot play game? VB won't find disc.

Hi all,
This is a bit silly but I'm trying to play a game through VB running Windows XP. It installed just fine, but when I try to play the game, it tells me to "please insert disc 1". I installed it from a disc 1 iso file, and even tried uninstalling and re-installing through a disc with the iso burned onto it. It still gives me the same message. I've been searching for a solution for over a day now, nonstop. I thought my problems would be solved with "Passthrough", but it didn't seem to work at all...
Any help for a total newbie at this sort of thing? I just want to play this dumb game, lol...
