Running windows with VM using alternative connection

Post by 0113 »

Using virtual box on my windows 8 pc.
I have two seperate internet connections
I need to be able to browse internet on pc using one connectiopns ip and on the virtual machine I need to use the other connection or a VPN
The goal is to achieve two connections browsing internet using seperate IP address
What is the best way to do this?
A guide would be much appreciated! Thanks

The solution is in the network settings in the Windows OS of the host, not in VirtualBox.

You use bridged networking for the vm. On the NIC which acts as the bridge for the vm, you disable all services except the VirtualBox bridged networking driver. On the other NIC you disable only the bridged networking driver. This effectively reserves one NIC for each machine.

This is the system which Microsoft uses itself for Hyper-V networking.
