can not open my VMs in 4.3.20 exit code-1073741819

Post by knightwarrior »

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
Virtual box 4.3.20

I did search for hours and none of the information I found is related. I know there is something about a KB and I do not have that KB installed. I am getting this problem with and without the extensions installed.

I tried uninstalling virtual box and reinstalling still same issue. I did use this same version earlier a month or so ago with no issues, not sure what has changed aside from updating the OS. I have Microsoft Forefront as the AV and always had even earlier when Virtual Box worked fine.

Please help

We'll need to see the guest log as a zipped attachment. See: Minimum information needed for assistance

Also, this is a 64bit Host and guests. This is happening to all the guests. This log is for one of the guests Windows 8.1.

The memory on the host is 32GB and on the guest is 8GB.

The log you posted is from Oct of last year and you were running 4.3.16. It also had the 4.2.16 guest additions installed.

Will, I did have that version and then I updated to 4.3.20 and as I said this same guest was working. That is the newest log I have on this guest. What else do you want from me to be able to fix this?

Here is what another guest shows when I try to show log:

What do I need to do to fix this issue?

I deleted that guest without deleting the files, and re-added it and I get the same error when trying to start it and it shows the same thing as my earlier post when trying to look at the log

Downgrade to 4.3.12. See if that fixes it. If it does, take a look at Windows 4.3.20 specifically for errors due to security. You might find some newer test builds and/or other helpful hints.
