XP OS closing down after a couple of hours in Ubuntu

Hiya.
I use Ubuntu 7.10 and installed Virtualbox within that. I use an XP Pro OS and have it up and running.
The only problem I am encountering is if I have the XP Pro running in Virtualbox, after say a couple of hours, XP just closes and on the Virtualbox OSE, it says 'Abort'.
I then have to start XP again in VB until another couple of hours before the same happens.
Can VB run continuously or does it shut down after a few hours.
Thanks.
Ps I'm a novice at this so if you need more info, let me know and where I can find it.
Thanks.
