Machine (win 10) won't open after changing resolution

I used this command in the host to supposedly change the resolution
Code: Select all
VBoxManage.exe setextradata "Win 10" CustomVideoMode1 1600x900
now the machine, Win 10, won't open and gives this error message:
Code: Select all
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Win 10.
No error info.
Result Code: RPC_S_SERVER_UNAVAILABLE 0x800706BA (0x800706BA)

UPDATE: I fixed it, I had forgotten the x32, Now all is well!

Windows 10 is in pre-release. Basically that means not everything may work as expected. The command you used only would work if the guest additions are installed in your Windows 10 guest and may not work correctly even then. To fix what you did you would have to shut down the guest and VirtualBox and try and edit the .vbox file for the guest by removing the setextradata line you just added.

Thanks for the reply, however, I was able to fix it as I had written the command improperly leaving the x32 off the resolution I had written 1600x900 and it should have been 1600x900x32. Once I corrected it then all is well and I am able to set the resolution where I want it.
