Host: Windows Vista Business 64-Bits
Guest: Windows 2000
Other USB devices work perfectly with the guest OS and also this device (HP PhotoSmart C5101A) used to work with Virtual Box guest without trouble approx. one year ago. Since then some new version of Virtual Box have been issued and now I cannot get the scanner working anymore (I did't use it for aome time).
The device is not recognized on the guest OS and nor VirtualBox USB driver is installed on the Host OS. Reconnecting does not help. If I try to reconnect the scanner the message "USB device is busy..." appears?
The scanner device requires USB 1.1 and it is connected to a USB 2.0 (Intel Chipset) USB port on the host. I also tried the USB extensin pack withou sucess, no matter with or without USB2.0 enabled. By the way there are no drivers for the scanner for Vista and above (the reason I use the VM) and in the Host contol panel it is listed a unknown device.
Has anyone ideas what I can try? I already searched the forum and testes some precedures suggested without any success... May this be an error that has not yet been detected because I'm using a less common OS combination (Vista 64-Bit & Windows 2000)? Should I try another gues OS? It definitely used to work with a previous version of Virtual Box. It also works with other VM software (however I would like to keep VirtualBox) ...
Here is some dignosis of my virtual machine, maybe an expert might find the error?
