I run the resize command to increase the size of my virtual disk running windows 7 64bit like it is in this post:

The virtual disk size is now 41 GB while actual size is 30GB . The problem when I log into windows and open the disk management I dont see any space to allocate ! please advise

Yes it does. If you do not want to merge the snapshot/s you need to increase the snapshot and not the base. *BUT* once you do you will probably not be able to merge it back in the future.
