Hi guys,
I just got done installing Windows 7 Pro on my new Samsung SSD and installed VirtualBox on it. I had VirtualBox installed on the old Intel SSD I was just using and I kept all my virtual machines separately on a hard drive. I left the HDD in the system of course since I store all my big stuff on it and when I went to "Add" my old virtual machines back into the VirtualBox program by directing the program to each guests' .vbox file, my one Guest install of Windows 7 wont load up, I click the green Start button and it comes up for a second like normal but then I get the "Windows is loading files..." screen as if I were installing it for the first time and it just keeps looping over and over.
I figured it would be hard to explain so I recorded my screen as it did it into a quick 15 second video but I realized as I went to attach that little video to this post, that the extension .MP4 is not allowed so I guess I wont be including the video which would've shown exactly what was happening. I went to Plan B and took a few screenshots of the video. The 1st pic is of it loading up normally, the 2nd is when it acts like it's installing Windows for the first time, the 3rd pic is it looping back to loading up normally again, and it repeats this cycle indefinitely.
I do have the latest version (v4.3.20-96997) and the latest guest addition (v4.3.20-96996) installed, just downloaded today. Is this new version the problem? Should I revert back to an older version? Just curious.
If you need any more info about my setup, please ask and I'll provide any details that are necessary.
Thanks!

Actually the guests log file ( as an attachment ) would work better.

Thanks, Perryg. As I was trying to figure out how to conjure up a guests log file for you (didn't know how, never had to post one as an attachment before, still don't actually), I discovered that in the settings the drive path was incorrect, it was showing the drive letter for K: (the old drive letter from before) and the new drive letter is now J: but it was just for the snapshots, still though, I think that had something to do with it. Also, for some odd reason, under the General, Basic tab, next to Version it said Windows XP (32 bit) which was wrong so I changed it to Windows 7 (64 bit), and then tried running the machine but it still had the looping issue.Perryg wrote:Actually the guests log file ( as an attachment ) would work better.
I then Removed the machine (leaving the files of course) and Added it back and then it started working again. I'm not sure which thing I did fixed the issue but things are running smoothly again. So, I wont be needing any further assistance with this matter.
Thanks again.
