Windows 10 setup error, NX-enabled

Post by Tymek »

Hi.
I'm having trouble setting up the Windows 10 Technical Preview on my Virtual Machine.
It said that my processor didn't support NX so I enabled it on the Virtual Machine, and it still didn't work.

My specifications:
Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit Edition
CPU: Intel Core i3 (3rd Gen) 3217U / 1.8 GHz
Dual-Core
RAM 4 GB ( 1 x 4 GB )
Max RAM Supported: 8 GB
64-bit Processor

And Virtual Machine Specifications:
Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise (needs to become Windows 10 Technical Preview)
1.42GB RAM
CPU: Intel Core i3 (3rd Gen) 3217U / 1.8 GHz
PAE/NX enabled

Please help. Thank you.

Can you please zip and attach the following two items: 1) 'VBox.log', right-click on the VM, Show log and 2) '<YourVM>.vbox', right-click on the VM, show in Windows (or something like that).

Keep in mind that Win10 is not officially out, it's in beta. Which means things are changing on the OS, and as such it is not yet supported by VirtualBox, as you may have noticed from the lack of a 'Windows 10'-specific template.
