Hey! I'm fairly new to VirualBox, but I created an Ubuntu Linux 32bit system with 10GB of space and such, and this is the error I get when it starts up. What am I doing wrong?

Fatal: No bootable medium found! System halted.

Assuming that you have downloaded the Ubuntu install media, it appears to be corrupt.

Code: Select all

00:00:09.818560 PIIX3 ATA: LUN#2: CD-ROM block number 18 invalid (READ)
However I don't see it mounted in the logs so I need to ask. Have you downloaded and attached the ISO file to the virtual CD drive?

Oh, oops. I didn't realize you had to do that. So no, I didn't. But I'm downloading Ubuntu 32bit from their site, so I'll figure out how to mount it and such and then try again.

Don't worry, it's a common mistake, where people think that if they choose a template, the OS will be there. In fact it's just a template, a recipe if you will, on how to boot and present itself to an OS that you'll take care of downloading/finding.
