Unable To change Priority - access denied (virtualbox.exe)

Win 7 Host.
Installed virtualbox 4.2.30.
Now some processes of virtualbox.exe in the task manager of my host deny access if I try to change its priority.
What can I do?
Just out of curiosity: Since when does a running virtual machine have multiple process?

Since forever. There is the VM itself, and there is the background service process (VBoxSVC) - of which there is only one, regardless of the number of client VMs.
| Edit: Oh, and don't forget the GUI/Manager, which will also appear in the task list - until you close it. |

But I have 4 virtualbox.exe processes for every virtual machine running. Where do the other 3 come from?

How many monitors are being defined per VM?

Then it's a mystery.

If I remember correctly, this changed at some point in the 4.3.x series, where from one process there were multiple ones. Can't seem to find the post, but it was definitely from a developer.

What about changing priority? Anyone can confirm this behavior? Or is it just me?

If you're interested in lowering the priority so it doesn't hog the CPU of the host, you can achieve that by reducing the Execution Cap (to something less than 100%) under System, Processor.
