I have been using OS X for years and now I have this application from PMP that I need to run to study for my exam. Can I run it within VirtualBox without to pay for a MS Windows license?

If it will run on WIndows 10 you can download and install and use Windows 10 as a guest in VirtualBox for free until sometime next year. Otherwise, you would have to buy a copy of Windows.

Or you can try the Virtual Machines from Microsoft none-the-less. They last for 30 days if I'm not mistaken and they include a variety of operating systems. More information: https://www.modern.ie/en-us/virtualization-tools
