VGA PCI Passthrough

Post by face »

Hi,

I'm trying to passthrough a Palit GeForce GTX 750 Ti KalmX VGA card, but the Windows 7 64 bit guest dies at booting.

My system is the following:
  • Host OS: Debian Wheezy (packages from wheezy-backports)
  • Kernel: 3.16-0.bpo.3-amd64
  • Virtualbox: 4.3.14-dfsg-1~bpo70+1
  • Motherboard: ASRock H97M Pro4
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570
The motherboard and the cpu both supports VT-d.
I attached the error log.

Could you give me any hint about this?
Thanks!

Your host kernel would also need to have IOMMU enabled but unless you have two video cards it probably will not work out that well for you. Pass-through removes the device from the host first and well you see the issue.

That and we don't support the Distro fork of VirtualBox. You would need to ask the distro how to force the issue if they say it should work differently.
