How to make a usb device (not flash drive) available

Post by defwentz »

Here's the thing, I have this usb device, which is not a usb flash drive. And I want to use it in Win 7(the Guest OS).
How do I make the device "not grey" so that I can use it.

When it was a usb flash drive, I know that I can eject it in Finder, and make the state of it "not grey". But with other device, I just don't know what to do.

I know the question wasn't really about virtualbox, but I was hoping if anyone here have had this problem before could help me with it.

First you need the VB extension pack installed. Next thing is, it can't be a USB3 device. Then you need to create a USB filter for it.

beyond that… See Minimum information needed for assistance.

Oh... sorry, I don't think I understood how USB filter works before. I read the user manual, and it works perfectly, thank you.
