Restore from source folder

Post by nic9212or »

Please forgive me as I'm a newbie. I made a copy of the source folder of the vm. I deleted the original one to make space on disk. Now I want to configure the copy with another drive. (I understand this was not the correct way to migrate) Any suggestions to get this vm back up? I have tried making a new vm and using that existing HD in seetings, but I get the "Fatal: Could not read from the boot medium! System halted " error.

Thanks in advance

Ok I was able to get it to boot by attaching an iso for windows 8, then never booting from that disk (not pressing any key). It would eventually go to the orginal vm and everything seemed fine. But when I remove the iso, and restart it still wont boot. Any suggestions? Thanks
