Impossible to exit VM creation wizard

In VirtualBox 4.3.18 running of Yosemite 10.1.1 it is impossible to cancel or exit VM creation wizard. On the first screen Name and Operating System the only available button is continue (go back is greyed out) and all of the options on the menu bar are also greyed out.

The only options if you mistakenly click on "create new" is to complete the creation of the VM and then delete it or to Force Quit the VirtualBox GUI.

I believe 4.3.20 which came out today has a cancel key.

You are absolutely right on both counts. Esc did work on 4.3.18 (I didn't think of that) and 4.3.20 does have the cancel button. Thanks.
