Having problems with using .iso file in new VM Machine.

Post by jmhga44 »

I just started using Oracle Virtual Box and created my first virtual box a little while ago on a Windows 7 machine. When trying to install the Windows 10 preview on the VM machine using the .iso file I get an error that I've attached a screen shot of along with another screen shot. The .zip file is the VBox.log file.I re-downloaded the .iso file thinking I might have gotten a bad download and that didn't change anything.

I've also tried different settings in the Settings option for the VM machine and didn't have any luck there either.

FYI..I had found another post after putting this one out there that seemed to recommend going to an older version (4.3.12). I'm going to try that. Guess I should have checked some of the other posts first..

Going to an older version of VirtualBox didn't seem to help either. I'm wondering now if it's a problem with the host PC I'm working with. I may try the install on another machine to see what that does.

You can't run Windows 10 on that host. Windows 8.0 and later VMs require VT-x, which your host doesn't have.
