Win8.1 P2V Migration on Xubuntu 14.04 - Keyboard not working
Posted: 11. Nov 2014, 14:16
Hello,
i P2V migrated my Win8.1 from my HDD to a vmdk using VMware converter.
Everything but my Keyboard works good.
In Windows Device Manager there is a problem shown with PS/2 Keyboard. Device could not be started.
I found out that PS/2 support gets deactivated by Windows if you connect a USB Keyboard (What a BS!).
I already tried the following solution:
Set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt start value to 1.
But that did not help.
I tried to set the start value in cmd via sc:
sc config i8042prt start= demand
That did not help.
Anybody an idea?
Thanks in advance,
Carsten
